Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - I didn't finish reading...
I'm sorry, but I must have missed that this was an "erotic" book. This is not my type of book. I just looked at the number of good ratings, and I thought it would be a great book. I couldn't finish the book. When I started blushing in the 1st chapter, I knew I may not want to keep reading. Are you kidding me? Where is the story? It was almost like reading a recent LKH book, but it was worse. I really did not like the parts I finished. I would have given the book a 1 star, but I felt guilty.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Decent sex scenes....
With only passably decent storyline. Okay, I know it's erotica....but, sheesh! Why is it so hard to find a book with imaginative, graphic sex AND an intriguing storyline? I've only read a couple of Leigh's books, and can't figure out her popularity!! I'm annoyed with her frequency of cuss words in that it implies a deficiency in either her vocabulary or imagination. I'm also particularly annoyed with her choices of terms of endearment for her characters..."Baby" & "Babe" just DON'T have the same appeal on paper!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Exotic and erotic. Wild and fun.
Breeds are humans with animal DNA in them. Callan has lion DNA. Merinus is a normal human reporter hoping to convice him to tell his story publicly. When she and he meet, the chemical and hormonal reactions are so powerful that they cannot stay away from each other for more than a few hours. They go into withdrawal if they don't repeatedly mate with each other. It's not 5 star romance writing with great plot and character development, but I don't expect that from erotica. It's entertaining for erotica.

Sexual language: strong/erotic. Number of sex scenes: around seventeen, many are several pages long. Setting: about 2013 Washington D.C. and Sandy Hook, Ky. Copyright: 2003. Genre: erotic paranormal romance.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - In the beginning
Tempting the Beast (Feline Breeds, Book 1)

Starting in the beginning is always best. I just love every one of her characters and since I first read a breed story have wanted to get to the beginning. While the first one is a short story at least this is the start of the "lion breed" storyline. Since the way these breeds were created is more science that paranormal they also fall into the science fiction catagory which is my favorite. I was hesitant at first to read something in the erotic romance catagory but this has given me a whole new place to look for my favorite genre. So if you are a science fiction lover give these books a chance. You'll get caught up in it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I want a Callan of my own!
This was another favorite Lora Leigh books. Sexy, Sexy, Sexy!!! Exactly what I want out of Erotica: Enjoyable characters, interesting, great chemistry, decent storyline and the desire to have the hero of the book for my very own! Definitely time and money well spent!

On paper, the Mio DigiWalker P550 looks to be an attractive gadget for the mobile professional, combining the capabilities of a PDA and GPS into one device. However, its poor battery life and subpar navigation skills tell a different story.

Though it won't appeal to the masses quite yet, the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet is a nice, portable device for on-the-go Web browsing, and it has some worthy upgrades.

Though it has a few design and performance glitches, the Sony Ericsson W300i is a quality, basic MP3 cell phone.

Diesel vehicles have nearly a 50-percent market share in Europe, thanks to tax incentives and diesel-friendly legislation across the EU. Diesels are so passé there that you can buy a BMW 730d and no one will think it odd that your luxury car burns oil. Pull up in a diesel 7-Series in America and people would leer at you like you've alighted from an amphibious vehicle reeking of saltwater and dead trout.

But now, thanks to the oft-reported combo of newly-raised CAFE standards, not-so-newly-raised gas prices, and the 50-state diesel engine, GM, Ford, and Chrysler are about to dip more than a hesitant toe into the diesel game. Chrysler offers a diesel in the Grand Cherokee, but soon all three automakers will offer diesels in their best-selling lineups of light trucks -- the Dodge Ram 1500 is expected to offer a 50-state diesel after 2009. Light trucks are being used to lead the charge since those buyers stand to gain the most with the least amount of (perceived) sacrifice.

Diesels currently have 3.2-percent of the American market. Some estimates put them at 15-percent by 2015. That's a huge leap, and diesel still has plenty of hurdles. Diesels will come with a cost premium over gasoline-engined cars. That should be easy enough to conquer -- incentives and some quick cost and longevity calculations should convince people of the benefit. The real hurdle is the nagging issue of perception. The plan will probably be to attack that with a price that makes the proposition unbeatable. Said Chrysler's director of environmental affairs, "If it's priced right, we can sell diesel here. Diesel can give you an immediate poke in fuel economy -- 20 to 40 percent. Not many technologies can deliver that today."

One of the most unjustly underrated Italian operas receives a production that should help correct that attitude. Andrea Chenier is based on the true story of a poet who was caught up and destroyed by the blind fury of the French Revolution. Giordano's music captures the acrid flavor of that movement, the cynicism of some of its leaders, and Chenier's integrity and tragic fate. This production's value has probably increased since Plácido Domingo, the leading Chenier of his generation, has dropped the role from his repertoire.

All three principals sing eloquently and with a fine sense of the opera's structure and context. Anna Tomowa-Sintow is in even better voice than Domingo, and Giorgio Zancanaro heads an expert supporting cast. The Covent Garden Chorus, directed with distinction by Michael Hampe, gives a memorable impression of the revolutionary mob. Julius Rudel's conducting is totally idiomatic. --Joe McLellan

It would have been better, of course, if this 1984 production of Donizetti's Anna Bolena, or at least its title role, had been filmed 20 years earlier, when Joan Sutherland's voice was in its spectacular prime. But like her Canadian Opera Norma, dating from 1981, this is a better-late-than-never documentation of one of the most remarkable voices of the 20th century.

Lotfi Mansouri spared no effort or expense in making this production special. He personally directed the staging, and handpicked an outstanding cast (right down to the very young and then-unknown Ben Heppner in the small role of Hervey). The visual elements--sets, costumes, and camera work--are also handled with great care, and Sutherland's positive response to this dedication can be sensed in her performance as the unfortunate wife of King Henry VIII. James Morris is best-known as a Wagnerian singer--perhaps the leading Wotan of our time--but he is equally at home in many of the villainous roles that are the fate of bass- baritones (Iago, Scarpia, Don Giovanni). In this sinister tale of an innocent woman ruthlessly destroyed, he shows a surprising knack for the bel canto style. Judith Forst is also excellent in the role of Jane Seymour. --Joe McLellan
