Product Description:
Vigilant crewmember Sandy D'abu stays behind on Doradus station to mind the crew's new secure cargo business while the rest of the guys take the spaceship out on a run. There isn't a lot for him to do, so he spends his evenings at Durty Nelly's, keeping an eye on bartender Alex, a former pleasure slave a few of his crewmates feel responsible for. When the man who made Alex's a pleasure slave back on Earth suddenly turns up as part-owner of the sex club, Sandy agrees to help Alex out by pretending to be his boyfriend. After all, what are a few kisses among friends? The problem is that Sandy doesn't want to pretend; he's already in love with Alex. Alex is still skittish about being touched at all by anyone, let alone kissed by the huge ex-soldier, and if that wasn't enough, there are plenty of bad guys in both Sandy and Alex's pasts back on earth who have escaped to Doradus station too, and they all want a piece of the action. Will Sandy and Alex be able to put the past, and the men who want to hurt them, behind them to find a future together? Find out in this passionate sequel to Off World.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The author delivers a second time
While I prefer the main characters in the first book in this series, it's strictly a matter of liking my tops to be big and brawny and my bottoms to be lithe and agile.

D'Abu and Alex are great characters and aside from the roles they take in bed I enjoyed everything about their budding romance. Unlike the characters in the first book Alex has much bigger hurdles to overcome on the way to love or even just trust, but I found myself rooting him on all the way. The progression was natural and not too fast or too slow.

I really like this world created by Ms. Vaughn and I hope the author returns to it again and again.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wonderful sequel!
I loved this sequel to Off World. I've become a fan of Stephanie Vaughan's sexy sci-fi series starting with Off World which tells Cal and Sarhaan's story. However, OW2 can definitely be read stand alone, though truthfully, it was the character development and engulfing eroticism between the heroes in the first book that made me read OW2 and has left me begging and panting for a third one. I love Vaughan's writing style - crisp and lively, her descriptions of the delicious men loving each other and the heartfelt romance that develops between them have all got me hooked! There are many, many erotic m/m books out there now and so I've become highly selective - Stephanie Vaughan is one writer I enjoy reading so much because I know I'll get a thoroughly satisfying read.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A sequel which excels its predecessor.
Unlike the prequel, Off World 2 focuses less on mysteries and intrigues and more on romance and relationship, this time between Sandy D'Abu and Alex Valentine. To get the most out of the characters and the world Vaughan has created, it is recommended to read the prequel first.
Both Sandy and Alex are appealing and well flushed out characters. Alex is one tortured soul as he bravely tries to make a decent living having survived years as a pleasure slave, which left him broken and afraid of intimacy. Fortunately he has Sandy to look out for him. Sandy may be a tough alpha soldier, powerful and dominating in physique, but when it comes to Alex, he is one gentle soul as he patiently nurtures and loves Alex. There is also a revelation on Sandy's sexual preference which I find is a tender side of this big mountain of a man. Theirs is a touching love story, with emotionally tense and stirring moments when Alex reverts to his old self, trying desperately to please. The title Sanctuary is most fitting as Alex finds just that. There is a solid plot here as ghosts from Alex's and the Vigilant crew's pasts returned to haunt them. I hope there is more to come as I would love to read one Kai Xuwicha finding his soul mate.

You can say this about D.E.B.S.: director Angela Robinson’s 2005 feature isn’t very good, but it is surprisingly entertaining. The premise, which bears a passing resemblance to any number of previous films (from Heathers and Clueless to Charlie’s Angels and the Austin Powers franchise), involves a secret government agency recruiting young women as spies, based on their smarts, their ability to lie convincingly, and the fact that they look fetching in ultra-miniskirts. Four of the D.E.B.S. are then charged with collaring "criminal mastermind" Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster), who has returned to the States after hatching all manner of nefarious plots overseas. Then comes the twist: Diamond is gay, and one of our heroines, Amy Bradshaw (Sara Foster), unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with her. Out goes the espionage element; in comes the love story, and therein lies the surprise, as this burgeoning lesbian relationship is handled with unexpected sympathy, even tenderness. Sure, the acting, even by veteran grownups like Holland Taylor and Michael Clarke Duncan, is almost uniformly lame, and the script is silly; overall, the film would have to put on considerable weight to even be considered frothy. Still, D.E.B.S. isn’t a bad way to kill a couple of hours. DVD bonus features include a making-of featurette and commentary by Robinson and the cast. --Sam Graham

The teaming of Johnny Knoxville (Jackass: The Movie) and Seann William Scott (Dude, Where's My Car?) as well as the presence of the '70s-flavored car chases that were a specialty of the TV series guarantees that The Dukes of Hazzard will be even more lowbrow than the CBS TV series (1979-85) that inspired it. However, this brain-damaging comedy is more "rehash" than "remake," as good ol' Georgiaboys Luke Duke (Knoxville) and his cousin Bo (Scott) are frequently upstaged bythe General Lee, the Confederate-flagged '69 Charger that they drive, jump, race, and fly in as they smuggle moonshine for their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson). Meanwhile, cousin Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) is reliably available to model her short-shorts (aka "Daisy Dukes") and awesome figure (and let's face it, Simpson's talents pretty much begin and end right there), while corrupt honcho Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds, who should know better) recruits a local NASCAR star to advance his wily scheme of converting Hazzard County into a strip mine. Director Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers) manages to mine some good-natured humor from the movie's oval-track detour and a few colorful supporting players (notably Kevin Hefferman as the Duke's pal Sheev). Otherwise, consider yourself warned: The Dukes of Hazzard is shameless Hollywood product at its most forgettable, trafficking in shameless white, rural Southern stereotypes. If you can make itto the end, there's a blooper reel to reward your endurance. --Jeff Shannon

DVD features
Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi
