Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Cardio for fun!
I wanted a low impact dancing cardio that would promote hip flexibility (to minimize hip fracture should I fall...I am 62) as well as increase my cardio/pulmonary endurance in a more gentle manner. IN the beginning, I was only able to do about 10 minutes of this program. After about 3 months, I was able to do the entire program. Now I use the DANCING WITH KILI chapter as a warm-up/cool-down for other programs that focus on lower/upper body strength-training. Sometimes, in the afternoon, I do 10 minutes of hula with Kili simply for the sheer pleasure of moving my hips! In spite of some of the negative reviews on Kili's other hula dvd's, I have purchased all of them! I love the diversity and the fact that I can adapt them to suit my personal needs once the hula 'motions' have been mastered.

I have been doing yoga for 5 years and qigong for about 4 years. I was amazed to discover that hula (as done by Kili)allows me to move QI as I dance! I love this aspect of hula! Also, my joints have loosened far more rapidly with hula than they ever did with yoga. I suspect that this might be caused by the fact that yoga was developed for men by men while hula (as taught by Kili) is for a woman's body!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Love it.
Love this product. I am a little uncoordinated, taking time to learn the moves is essential. Good workout though! I felt the burn right away.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Yes I feel the burn but it's fun
Yes this is an exercise video but when I turn it on and start following the moves, I feel more like I am dancing. The drums are incredible and are a great change from the generic "exercise" music in other videos. In the very beginning of the video they show the whole dance that you will be learning. Then instead of going over each move step by step, stopping and working on each new step and boring me (like in some belly dance videos) they began with the first step worked on it, transitioned to the second step, put the two together, then the third step and then put them together from the top, ect. You get the idea. You built upon each step introduced and then put them all together in the end. There was no wait time while I watched the dancers demonstrate. It was a lot of fun but it burns my buns and thighs.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Ideal workout!!!
This DvD will have you workout under absolutely ideal circumstances!!!
You will forget it is raining and glum outside and actually find yourself smiling and relaxed, inspired by the beautifull background and friendliness of Kili and her assistents who will teach you how to be loose and gracious with your body while working up a great cardio sweat.

After being loyal to Jane Fonda's (rigorous) "Challenge Workout" this is the perfect workout antidote for me personnally.
I LOVE IT!
Cin.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great authentic hula in workout form
I loved her since her first DVDs "Hula Workout" though those used cutsy 60s music & added 60s american dance moves but still have a lot of authetic hula dancing.

These "Island Girl" hula workouts are more authentic. Just like her other ones, you get a great workout, your abs burn, your hips, legs get a nice workout. It's all authentic dance moves with some added quick squats, etc. added in so you barely notice it for adding toning. The authentic drum Hawaiian music is beautiful & does keep you stimulted too keep going just like a dance/rock beat would.

I had no trouble following & learning the steps, there are plenty of dance DVDs that I have had trouble with, but she breaks everything down well & shows it slowly several times before speeding it up. She even cues YOUR left & right, not hers.

There's a trailer for her "Hula Workout" DVDs & another authentic Hula workout like this called "Island Girl: Hula Abs & Buns" at collagevideo com

You can say this about D.E.B.S.: director Angela Robinson’s 2005 feature isn’t very good, but it is surprisingly entertaining. The premise, which bears a passing resemblance to any number of previous films (from Heathers and Clueless to Charlie’s Angels and the Austin Powers franchise), involves a secret government agency recruiting young women as spies, based on their smarts, their ability to lie convincingly, and the fact that they look fetching in ultra-miniskirts. Four of the D.E.B.S. are then charged with collaring "criminal mastermind" Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster), who has returned to the States after hatching all manner of nefarious plots overseas. Then comes the twist: Diamond is gay, and one of our heroines, Amy Bradshaw (Sara Foster), unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with her. Out goes the espionage element; in comes the love story, and therein lies the surprise, as this burgeoning lesbian relationship is handled with unexpected sympathy, even tenderness. Sure, the acting, even by veteran grownups like Holland Taylor and Michael Clarke Duncan, is almost uniformly lame, and the script is silly; overall, the film would have to put on considerable weight to even be considered frothy. Still, D.E.B.S. isn’t a bad way to kill a couple of hours. DVD bonus features include a making-of featurette and commentary by Robinson and the cast. --Sam Graham

The teaming of Johnny Knoxville (Jackass: The Movie) and Seann William Scott (Dude, Where's My Car?) as well as the presence of the '70s-flavored car chases that were a specialty of the TV series guarantees that The Dukes of Hazzard will be even more lowbrow than the CBS TV series (1979-85) that inspired it. However, this brain-damaging comedy is more "rehash" than "remake," as good ol' Georgiaboys Luke Duke (Knoxville) and his cousin Bo (Scott) are frequently upstaged bythe General Lee, the Confederate-flagged '69 Charger that they drive, jump, race, and fly in as they smuggle moonshine for their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson). Meanwhile, cousin Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) is reliably available to model her short-shorts (aka "Daisy Dukes") and awesome figure (and let's face it, Simpson's talents pretty much begin and end right there), while corrupt honcho Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds, who should know better) recruits a local NASCAR star to advance his wily scheme of converting Hazzard County into a strip mine. Director Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers) manages to mine some good-natured humor from the movie's oval-track detour and a few colorful supporting players (notably Kevin Hefferman as the Duke's pal Sheev). Otherwise, consider yourself warned: The Dukes of Hazzard is shameless Hollywood product at its most forgettable, trafficking in shameless white, rural Southern stereotypes. If you can make itto the end, there's a blooper reel to reward your endurance. --Jeff Shannon

DVD features
Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi
