Product Description:
NOW WITH THE ALL NEW DESIGN YOUR OWN WORKOUT MATRIX MENU OPTION Experience Kundalini Yoga's sophisticated approach to effortless conditioning. Breathe, move, stretch, relax, meditate, celebrate! Boost your metabolism. Slim down, tone and feel inspired. These workouts and meditations will help you optimize your glandular system, bring emotional healing, reduce problem areas, and help you attain your personal ideal. This conveniently chaptered 90 min. DVD offers four 20 min. workouts (plus two meditations) to help you reshape your body and your life! This DVD starts with a breathing exercise for energizing and to curb impulsive habit patterns. Then the first segment Start Your Engines, features exercises to boost metabolism. Our favorite is the cardio warm-up called 'Ravi Rolls' with the breath of fire. The Fight Fire w/Fire segment focuses on abdominal strengthening and toning. These are exercises anyone can do, but you will really feel the burn. Segment 3: No Impact Aerobics really gets your circulation moving. You haven't lived until you've tried Frog Pose and Piston Pose! Your Life is in Your Own Glands will optimize hormonal balance. The two meditations on this DVD are for calming and emotional healing. The soothing Breath Meditation w/Hands Like a Teapot is more relaxing than a day at the spa! This DVD is for all levels. Modifications are given so that everyone can always participate. Long time yogis will find much new material to add to their yoga repertoire. This DVD features an inspired musical score by Tom Carden.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good workout
This is a very well instructive DVD. For beginners, I suggest to watch first and then do the routines. The first time I felt the exercises work and was a little sore. I couldn't finish the whole routine. It will take time to build up.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Ana & Ravi Make Yoga Exciting!

I was swayed by all the 5 star reviews and I couldn't be happier with this program. This is an absolutely brilliant yoga DVD. I thought that I didn't like yoga until I tried this fun and energetic DVD. I love to move and stretch my muscles and was pleased to see that this style of yoga includes movement exercises as well as poses. There are also four self explanatory segments which you can program using the Matrix Menu option. So, whether I have 15 minutes or an hour, I can get a complete workout in. I just can't get enough of this DVD. I've had it for three months, and along with their Kundalini Yoga for Beginners & Beyond, I'm on a permanent high.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It's Almost Spooky How Fast Results Came!!!
I love the fat burning effects of Fat Free Yoga! Any set you do seems to help the weight loss along! The workout is invigorating, makes me break a sweat, and I feel great afterwards. No pretzel like moves, they're all simple but it is fairly fast paced which makes it fun and with breath of fire you get a great workout. The breath of fire primer is easy to follow and you will want to use breath of fire all day long because it perks you up and gives you energy through the ceiling! The "frog" exercise is a revelation! My thighs are loving it!
I love the Matrix and I love all four 18 minute segments: Your Life Is in Your Own Glands: Fight Fire with Fire: Burn Baby Burn: No Impact Aerobics. The 1st is for a metabolism boost, the 2nd is Core Work, the 3rd is for "Problem Areas," and the 4th is the cardio element. Awesome!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - not what I expected
This is an interesting yoga video but not what I had hoped for. The DVD has a special matrix feature which allows you to customize your workout, a definite positive. However, I think there is not a lot of direction or description about the organization and what is each chapter's purpose. Since the video is 90 minutes, it is not likely to be done in its entirety, so it would be helpful to categorize the sections so one can create an effective yoga workout with the necessary components and organization. Also, I read on other reviews about little or no instruction on the "breath of fire": I agree, you will figure it out but if you don't select the chapter which introduces this to you, you will be confused on some other chapters. This yoga workout feels mostly like a warmup to me, and there wasn't enough emphasis on flexability.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very Enjoyable DVD. Great Purchase!
This is a genius way to get beginners into an at home yoga practice. There is no need to immediately twist yourself into a pretzel. Nor do you have to move so slow that you will be bored to tears! You can listen to great music to inspire you and jump right into your practice! First are easy to follow exercises that involve some invigorating warm-ups for energizing. After that you move on to more strengthening and stretching work. As I said the workout moves along and you will not be bored for one second. Their are modifications given where might be needed, The exercises are easy to follow and Ana demonstrates them at a nice pace. The results came fast for me, my abs are strong and defined and i even lost an inch or two (which i wanted to). Not only do I feel taller and appear more sculpted, I get compliments for my great posture! This workout will do wonders for your back, posture, mental focus, well-being and of course your body!

On paper, the Mio DigiWalker P550 looks to be an attractive gadget for the mobile professional, combining the capabilities of a PDA and GPS into one device. However, its poor battery life and subpar navigation skills tell a different story.

Though it won't appeal to the masses quite yet, the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet is a nice, portable device for on-the-go Web browsing, and it has some worthy upgrades.

Though it's expensive, the Sony VAIO VGN-TX670P delivers a great combination of business and entertainment features, long battery life, and unparalleled connectivity in an incredibly ultraportable package.

The rolling hills of Tennessee farmland, framed in lovely patchwork quilt patterns, set the stage for Dolly Parton's (of Grand Ol' Opry fame) warm childhood memories. The text comes directly from Parton's autobiographical hit country and western song of the same name. Perhaps the grammar is imperfect, but what C&W song ain't rife with grammatical errors--it's part of the vernacular. The story centers on a poor, but happy and loving, family (yes, they do exist) who find clever ways to deal with their poverty. As winter approaches, Mama sews a coat for her daughter from a box of scraps that someone has given her. Of course her classmates make fun of her for having a coat made of rags. But sticks and stones... "And although we had no money / I was rich as I could be / in my coat of many colors / that Mama made for me." That doesn't mean the child's feelings aren't hurt, or that she didn't feel angry. But the message comes through loud and clear (like Parton's voice): the child's mother has provided her with the strength to deal with other children's jeers, and family love can sometimes be enough to pull a person through.

The trend toward interactive video games—with an emphasis on "active"—is a welcome one for parents and kids alike. Play TV Baseball 3 is an updated version of the earlier version of the virtual reality game, with loads of realistic touches that will have baseball fans jumping off the sidelines and into the game. Simply plug the base into your TV or VCR, pick up the wireless bat, and play ball! Play against a friend or choose from one of 12 teams. Rules are the same as regular baseball, whether you’re at the plate, on the mound, or in the field: swing away for a home run, lay down a bunt to advance base runners, steal a base, strike out the batter with six different pitches (fastball, curve, screwball, slider, splitter, or change up), or field the ball and choose which base runner to throw out—or maybe you’ll turn a double play! Entertaining music and commentary included. Games need never be called on account of rain again! For 1 to 4 players. Six AA batteries required (not included). --Emilie Coulter

This decade-spanning compilation charts the singer-dancer-actress's transformation from rebellious teenager to sexy diva, along the way check-listing major hits like "Nasty," "Miss You Much," "What Have You Done for Me Lately?" and "Rhythm Nation." Two new tracks bookend the set, but even the older material--most of it helmed by writer-producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis--holds up remarkably well. --Courtney Kemp

Why is Janet Jackson's Janet the best Michael Jackson album since Thriller and the best Madonna album since..., well, since ever? Perhaps it's because Michael's kid sister is the only one of these three aerobic video stars with enough smarts to realize that sex, hooks, and beats are all that matter in this field of lightweight dance pop. Or perhaps it's because the sexuality Janet radiates through her sweet melodies and hip-tugging grooves is so much more credible than Michael's arrested prepubescence or Madonna's nothing-personal-just-business comeons. After her embarrassing posture as a sociocultural analyst on 1989's Rhythm Nation 1814, Janet has returned to her strength--using her odd mix of girlishness and maturity to make dance numbers about personal relationships ring exceptionally true. Even so, the 75-minute, 27-track Janet doesn't really work as an album; there's too much filler and the between-song transitions quickly grow tiresome. The album is full of killer singles, though, starting with such proven cuts as the extremely slinky "That's the Way Love Goes" and rock-guitar-driven "If," and featuring such future hits as the Prince-like "This Time," the Motown-like "Because of Love," the breathy ballad "Where Are You Now" and the inspired Stax cover, "What'll I Do. --Geoffrey Himes

Picking up where the breakthrough funk-pop of Control left off, Janet Jackson and her production team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis laced Rhythm Nation with high-minded references to societal ills--seldom the favored province of dance music, but a daring attempt nonetheless. Songs like "State of the World" and "The Knowledge" follow in the tradition of "free your mind and your ass will follow." Still, aside from the title track, it was the pure pop fare and dance music that stormed the charts: "Escapade," "Love Will Never Do (Without You)," "Alright," and "Come Back to Me" concentrate on the politics of personal relationships, not public policy, while "Black Cat" burns the place down with a fierce burst of hard rock. Rhythm Nation 1814 doesn't necessarily hang together thematically, but it's so chock full of hits, you scarcely notice. --Daniel Durchholz
