![]() Rating: - Arent we supposed to be watching your hips, not your face?I own 2 of Carmen Elecra's aerobic workout videos, including Vegas Strip. In the Bedroom is a flop. There is no workout, and most of the time the camera man is zooming in on her face. Um, excuse me, but isnt the more important action happening below the waistline? I love the Vegas Strip workout, you can actually feel where its working, and see how she is doing the moves. But dont waste your money on this one. Rating: - In the bedroom? Not a chance! This video was not sexy nor was it a workout in any way! It was a short dance-like routine set in a bedroom. It was just strange! However, the Carmen Electra "Fit to Strip" video, which is a workout based, not strip based, video is great! Its perfect for those days that you are a little too tired to do your crazy aerobic routine. Its challenging, but you still get to lie on the floor for most of it! ;) Rating: - It's ok?!?This is an ok dvd but not the best. I don't feel that it really gives you much of a work out. Plus I felt a bit silly actually doing it...I had to make sure nobody was going to be home for awhile! I feel like a speed walk around the block would have been more of a workout... Rating: - dissatisfiedThere are only 2 routines per DVD. Nothing to get excited about. Rating: - Cheaper at TargetJust wanted to give people a heads-up since I found this out a little late. I bought this DVD along with the In the Bedroom DVD for $26 (free super saver shipping) from amazon because it was cheaper than buying from Carmen Electra's site (high shipping fees). They came in the mail yesterday, but I had gone to Target for some other things and happened to notice that Target has an "exclusive" pack of the 2 DVDs together for only $19.99. So it would have been cheaper (and faster) to buy them both at Target. Have not opened the DVDs yet to review them, but hopefully this helps some of you save a few bucks. |

Marie opens the show with an outdoor rendition of "We Need a Little Christmas" and then moves into the studio where Kirk Cameron arrives on a snowmobile (fresh from rescuing a trio of blonde snow bunnies) to read "The First Christmas Story." Lee Greenwood performs "Christmas to Christmas" and later a duet with Marie. "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" is sung by Sally Struthers and daughter with help from the Osmond Boys--six stepping stones ages 4 to 12 who have the senior Osmonds' moves down pat. The adorable award, though, goes to Marie's 5-year-old son, Steven, who performs a rockin' version of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" (clapping on the off-beat nearly the whole song).
Marie has a good, strong voice, but many of the songs are overproduced and melodramatic. This, most likely, is a product of the big, pouffy '80s (her hair and outfits are also bigger-than-life) rather than a reflection of her talents. The closing number, "O Holy Night," sung by Marie alone, is quite lovely. --Dana Van Nest
